So, it’s February and for a lot of us that CHOCOLATE! I am an avid chocolate lover and a kitchen nerd, so I love to experiment and create new things. This is a simple recipe (not necessarily healthy) that anyone can make. Plus, it’s a pretty great feeling to put these out on a tray at a party or dinner and say “I made those.” Making chocolates at home is super easy and people are always impressed with them. Just grab a bag of chocolate chips in a brand that you love (or chocolate melts) and some chocolate molds or cupcake liners and get to work!
So, for this recipe I used:
- 1 bag of Hersheys Special Dark Chocolate Chips (Use any kind of chips/melts you like)
- 4 oz roughly chopped nuts (your choice – I chose pecans.)

Melt the chocolate chips/melts in the microwave for 30 seconds in a glass bowl. Take them out and stir them. You don’t want to heat them too long because chocolate does burn and turns into a weird texture. If you stir it up and it doesn’t completely melt, then microwave for just 5-8 second intervals and take it out to stir it every time. Once it’s melted, stir in the chopped nuts.
Now, you’re ready to put it in your mold/cupcake liner.
(I used silicone cupcake liners because this gives it a cute look. You can also just spoon a good spoonful onto a silicone mat or lightly greased wax paper if you’d like. I do have a favorite brand of silicone liners (Theo’s Bakeware) that I bought on Amazon and I will never buy another brand! They even came in the cutest box! I’ll post a review soon.)
Spoon the chocolate-nut mixture into the cupcake holder (or whatever you decided to use) and then place them onto a tray that will fit in your fridge. Refrigerate 1 hour. Then Enjoy!
