I Can Only Imagine

The first time I heard this song on the radio it hit me hard. I immediately began envisioning what it would be like to experience meeting our Creator and how I would handle it. Would I fall to my knees? Would I shout with joy? Would I even be able to speak? I think I would just be in awe, honestly. I’m not sure if I’d be able to think straight for a moment.

This song is very powerful and moves you to really picture the day you meet God and how amazing it will be. It also makes you think about your life and put things in perspective. Obviously, if you haven’t been living in a righteous way and have been ignoring His way then you might be nervous and a little terrified about the rest of your eternity. If you are comfortable in your relationship with God then you probably are excited about that day and know that it will be the most amazing experience of your existance.

I love that there is a movie coming out about the origins of this song and its writer from the Christian band Mercy Me, Bart Millard. He took the pains of his childhood and his tumultuous relationship with his father and turned it into one of the most powerful songs on Christian radio that has touched lives all over the world.

This movie just released in theaters yesterday, March 16, 2018, and it’s already inspiring the masses. I know that this movie, just like the song, will help many people all over the world who are going through similar life struggles find hope and renew their faith.

The first time I heard this song, I was in my car driving to campus when I was in college. It really moved me because I was going through some things with a few “friends” of mine at the time. It helped me see the bigger picture and not sweat the small stuff.

Do you remember the first time you heard this song??? Tell me about it in the comments below!!!
